… Education is the only Answer to all Odds!

My parents were poor and academically illiterate. But they were very much determinant to educate their children. We are three siblings. My elder brother Vilas who studied Mechanical Engineering, then Bachelor of Laws and now serving as a Judicial Magistrate.  Me (Sunil) studied Instrumentation Engineering, then Masters in Business Studies, graduated from Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) and founded KHANDBAHALE.COM. My younger brother, Dnyaneshwar studies MSc Botany, ranked NET-SET, PhD and now serving as a Professor of Botany. We had quite hard time in our childhood like most of the people does have in the villages of India. In fact, we are the very first generation in our whole genealogy to get educated. It is the only ‘EDUCATION’ which transformed our life into a prosperity. But how can one enjoy that prosperous life when things around us are not so well? We live as a joint-family on our farm in my tiny village called ‘Mahiravani’ of Nashik District in the state of Maharashtra. Surrounding people are farmers and entirely depend on their agriculture based survival economy. It is very much challenging to educate their kids in adverse and unstable conditions, poor basic infrastructure, damaged or no roads, uncertain electricity etc. This society is badly in need of awareness about education and requires a quality with affordable education facility. So our family decided to start a school for underprivileged children. On 1st July 2011, we started a school under a Tree and name me it ‘Global Discovery School’. My parents are our motivation and energy. Dnyaneshwar’s wife Vrishali (Msc. BEd.) is very caring and look after school activities along with her devoted teaching staff & enthusiastic team of volunteers.
